can you think of more works of art that incorporate these elements of reading the geography of a place, reading the political past and present of a place and the natural phenomena that has occurred as a point of departure for creating material? what are they?
I can think of many, and some of them are works we'll read together this semester! One that immediately leaps to mind is _Green-Wood_ by Allison Cobb, which we're reading later in the semester, and another is _Zong!_ by M. NourbeSe Philip, which we're also reading. Also, you might check out the two books by Craig Santos Perez in the Antena Space (one is published by Tinfish and the other is published by Omnidawn), and the book _Coal Mountain Elementary_ by Mark Nowak (published by Coffee House). There are more -- Abel or anyone, if you'd like some suggestions for further reading in this vein, feel free to come by the Antena space any afternoon and JP or I will be happy to point you toward some titles.
